Venture paths unknown and get to experience the best of Zimbabwe’s travel resorts in this slow-paced adventure. The Safari begins in the capital Harare and takes guests through to the iconic Victoria Falls, marking a perfect ending to this awesome journey.
This tour is flexible in so many ways. Guests can depart any day they choose, and for those willing to extend their stay before or after the tour this can be arranged at an extra cost. Guests of all ages are welcome and the vehicle can be collected from the airport. Guests can look forward to a fun-filled trip which is inclusive of meals and activities.
Trip Overview
DAY 1 Arrival in Harare – Collect rental vehicle and spend the night at a comfortable Lodge in one of Harare’s finer areas. Get a glimpse of the city as you drive to the overnight accommodation. Meals will be provided (Dinner & Breakfast)
DAY 2 – 3 Depart for the Eastern Highlands, Spend the night at cosy Musangano Lodge, meals included.
DAY 4 -7 Proceed in a south-west direction to the Gonarezhou National Park, one of the country’s largest wildlife parks for an unforgettable nature encounter. The park is rich in game, animals to look forward to including, Elephants, lion, buffalo, zebra and so on. There are amazing relief features in Gonarezhou as well; the Chilojo Cliffs, dams and various fascinating rock formations. Accommodation for the night will be at the luxurious Chilo Gorge Lodge. Leisure activities to look forward to including; walking safaris (with an armed guide) nature walks and game drives.
DAY 8 Set out for the city of Masvingo, to visit the Great Zimbabwe Ruins. This historical monument features the remnants of a vibrant ancient civilisation that is one of the oldest ruins in Southern Africa. The tour will definitely be eye-opening. Spend the night t the Ancient City Lodge Breakfast and Dinner will be provided.
DAY 9 – 10 The next stop is Matobo National Park, in the Matabeleland province of Zimbabwe. Here guests will have the opportunity to go game viewing and also to explore the Matobo Hills, an expansive series of Granite rock hill, they are definitely must see; the park is well known for its rhino population. Matobo is renowned as the setting for the historical battles between the native Matebele Tribe and the British settlers in the late 19th century; the British Colonialist Cecil John Rhodes and the great Ndebele King Mzilikazi are buried in these hills. Guests will sleep over at Camp Amalinda.
DAY 11 -12 On the morning of Day 11 after breakfast you set out for Hwange National Park, located in the North West of the country. A scenic ride all the way as there is much to see as the relief profile changes and as you drive up to look forward to seeing more wildlife in this great park. Guests rest and recharge at Ivory lodge for the night. All meals and Drinks are included.
DAY 13 -14
After a therapeutic visit to Hwange, guests then set out for the Victoria Falls, One of the 7 wonders of the World. A befitting conclusion to this trip will see guests stroll in this beautiful little resort town, do some curio shopping and participate in a number of unforgettable activities such as sunset cruise and the interactive Dinner event at the Boma Restaurant. Guests will be accommodated at the lovely Bed and Breakfast Bayete Lodge.
DAY 15
On Day 15 guests conclude the trip and there is a shuttle to the local airport for a flight to Harare or the next connection. Guests surrender the rental vehicle at the airport. Breakfast is provided on the day. Those wishing to stay a little longer can do so at an extra charge.
