Monday March 18 - talk by Ani Lhamo, ordained Buddhist nun and teacher of meditation and Dharma, topic: Women in Buddhism. Since the time of the Buddha, many individual women have earned respect for their understanding of Dharma. In recent times much attention has been paid to how women are regarded within the various spiritual traditions. Ani Lhamo will talk about women practitioners past and present, and the opportunities available to them to develop their inner potential. 5.30pm to 7pm, Borrowdale Meditation Centre, 6 Borrowdale Lane, off Piers Road.

Followed by Refuge ceremony conducted by Lama Yeshe Rinpoche, 5.30pm to 6.30pm. On Taking Refuge: Taking Refuge is a commitment to one's own deepest spiritual welfare and is the prerequisite for taking any empowerments.
Refuge is taken in the Buddha (the enlightened essence of compassion and wisdom within all of us), the Dharma (the teachings that will help unfold the enlightened essence within) and the Sangha (those realised beings who can guide us on the path). There will also be an opportunity to have a personal Interview with Lama Yeshe Rinpoche. The interview schedule is on the Harare Buddhist temple notice board.
