Antelope Park in collaboration with the ALERT Lion Rehabilitation Programme launched a brand new activity for guests in August 2019. The lions which were being kept at the Park are now scheduled for release into the wild; the first phase of re-integration can now be viewed first hand by guests. The activity dubbed the Lion Day and Night Encounter, allows guests to follow the cats closely as they are given the chance to roam freely, track prey and hunt.

During these encounters, guests will be fortunate to witness epic chases and see how lions behave in the wild and they can walk away with many photographs and videos of this unforgettable action. This activity is done in preparation for the permanent release of the lions. Antelope Park volunteers and guests will not interact up close with the lions during the exercise.
