Description
Begin your journey at Victoria Falls International Airport or border, where you will meet your guide and transfer to your lodge. The day ends with a sunset boat cruise on the Zambezi River.
On the second day, take a walking tour of Victoria Falls. Visit various viewpoints to observe the falls, walk through the rainforest, and experience the mist and sounds of the water. The afternoon is free to book additional activities with your guide.
Day three involves a transfer south to Hwange National Park. Transfer to open safari vehicles and enter Hwange, a vast reserve bordering Botswana where elephants and other wildlife roam freely. Hwange is home to over 100 mammal species, including the Big Five: leopard, lion, elephant, rhino, and buffalo, as well as giraffes, cheetahs, and brown hyenas. The park also has a significant population of wild painted dogs supported by conservation efforts. Enjoy an afternoon game drive.
Day four starts early with a morning game drive, served with tea and coffee. This is the best time to see big cats like lions, leopards, and cheetahs. After a full breakfast, a second game drive takes place in the afternoon. On the return trip to Victoria Falls, stop at the Hwange Painted Dog Conservation Project to learn about the rehabilitation work for this endangered species of fewer than 3,000 in Africa. Keep an eye out for wildlife along the road during the journey back.
The tour ends on day five with transfers to the airport or your hotel.
