Description
Zambezi National Park offers excellent birdlife year-round, with the best viewing from November to April when migratory birds arrive and resident birds display their breeding plumage. The park features two main game-viewing areas with an extensive road network.
Our safari departs earlier than others in Victoria Falls to increase wildlife sighting opportunities. The combined area of Zambezi and Victoria Falls National Parks covers 56,000 hectares, hosting a variety of mammals including elephants, lions, buffalo, leopards, and several antelope species.
The park is unfenced so animal sightings depend on timing and luck rather than guaranteed views. The nearby Zambezi River sustains over 75 fish species, including bream and tiger fish.
The safari uses an open four-wheel-drive vehicle with local licensed guides who manage park entry and brief guests onsite. Along the Zambezi River drive, there are 25 designated sites for breaks with light refreshments.
Morning safaris start at 06:00 or 10:00, including a light breakfast of muffins, tea or coffee, and water. Afternoon safaris depart at 15:00 offering soft drinks, beer, mineral water, and snacks. Safaris last between three and four hours.
Note that the rainy season from November to April may affect road conditions and wildlife visibility.
