Victoria Falls Safari Jeep and Vulture Feeding Experience

This guided safari jeep tour in Victoria Falls suits wildlife enthusiasts and families seeking nature and cultural insights.

Description

A licensed Savannah guide will collect you from your hotel, lodge, or Airbnb to begin the Vulture Safari and bush walk. The tour starts with a jeep safari visiting Victoria Falls landmarks, including the train station and Victoria Falls Hotel. Along the way, the guide points out local restaurants, bars, markets, and other points of interest.

The safari continues through the bush where you will learn about the local flora, fauna, history, and culture of Zimbabwe. The route includes a brief stop for views of the Zambezi Gorge and river below. You may see activities like gorge swinging, zip lining, whitewater rafting, or jet boating on the river.

Back in the jeep, the safari proceeds through the bush in search of wildlife before stopping at a large baobab tree. Here you can take photos and visit a small local market selling arts and crafts.

Depending on the tour time, you will join the “Vulture Culture” experience, which has welcomed visitors for nearly 20 years. A short bush walk leads to a shaded viewing deck where you receive a briefing on endangered vultures and their ecological role.

The guide then places carcass leftovers on the ground, attracting vultures that fly in from surrounding areas. Around 200 vultures, including hooded and white-backed species, feed for about 20 minutes. You can observe their wing spans and behavior from the hideout.

After the feeding, the vultures return to the wild and you are transported back to your original pickup point.
