Lion Park

The Lion Park is a sanctuary for lions; it is situated only forty-five minutes drive outside Harare. It is the perfect place to take the family for a fun day's outing. This sanctuary has been around for many years (formerly known as the Lion and Cheetah Park) and still continues to be a place of adventure, learning and relaxation for the young and old. The park no longer has any cheetahs hence the new name but visitors can still see the king of the jungle, the Lion. 

In addition to the lions, there are other animals to see including - 2 Alaskan Malamutes, a black-backed jackal, bush pig, warthog, monkeys, and tortoise. They also have 2 camels as well as Tommy the Galapagos tortoise who is over 200 years old. Our newest arrivals are 6 grey wolf pups and we offer wolf interaction as an activity. At the picnic area, visitors are able to walk around enclosures where they can see the Lions, as well as white lions. For meals and refreshments, there is a kiosk which serves a wide range of delicious meals and soft drinks. The Park gives visitors the opportunity to go on self-drive game viewing. Out in our game park, there are a number of plains game zebra, giraffe, wildebeest, blesbok, Nyala, wildebeest impala, eland, and more. The roads are suitable for all vehicles, so everyone can enjoy this little piece of nature. All of the animals in the game park are wild, but are used to cars and visitors can get very close to them from the safety and comfort of their vehicle.
