Description
Embark on a 5-day horse safari in Zimbabwe, combining adventurous riding with the chance to get up close to nature. Operate out of a 35,000-acre, family-run ranch, located 60 km from Bulawayo along the Victoria Falls road.
With so much space to roam, the rides consist of varied terrain and landscape. In the open flat areas, go for long trots or canters, while in the bushier areas, follow bush tracks to find wild animals.
Expect to see giraffes, kudu, eland, impala, warthogs, wildebeest, zebras, sable, and lots of birdlife. The giraffes are a personal favorite to see as the riders can get up close to them.
Riding times vary slightly from summer to winter, and take a break from riding during the heat of the midday. During this time, chill in the lodge, enjoy the viewing deck over a waterhole, use the swimming pool, and receive a delicious lunch made with farm-fresh food. Dietary restrictions are catered to.
Day 1 is an introductory day to your horse and getting into the rhythm of things. On Day 2, spice things up a bit and even add an afternoon on the bush cross-country course. On Day 3, we ride in the morning, then take a break in the afternoon for elephant feeding. Day 4 is the final riding day, where you make the most of it and ride into a sunset location for snacks and drinks. On Day 5, say your sad goodbyes.
