The Elephant and Pineapple is a new Bohemian style coffee shop located on York Avenue in the leafy suburb of Newlands.
Offering an all-natural and organic menu, it is the ideal place for health conscious foodies. It is a no frills establishment but its quirky décor is eye catching and comfortable.
Guests can choose to have their meal in the garden as they appreciate the relaxed setting or enjoy a quiet meal by the verandah. The café offers breakfast and lunch dishes which are all reasonably priced. All menu items have a unique twist to them with offerings such as; the Bamboo cake, lavender lemonade and the Mapfunde Hamburger.
The service is excellent and very personal as the proprietors are always on hand to make sure guests are comfortable.
Pop in to try their herbal teas such as Kombucha, or the gluten free desserts and their interesting snack selection. Assorted herbal teas to take home are also on sale. The Elephant and Pineapple is a welcome addition to eateries in the area.
