The Elephant Express
A typical ride lasts for about two hours, drinks and snacks are served on board while lunch is served when the train is stationary on the way back. The rail car accommodates only 22 people making it very comfortable, guests can move up and down to get a good view or take pictures. The train is operated by two experienced drivers and it travels at a safe speed. A professional guide is on board each trip pointing out flora and fauna just like on any safari. Guests are advised that Imvelo tries to make the trips as regular as possible, any delays and cancellations may occur due to circumstances outside their control. Guests are advised against using the train as a transfer method if they have an airline connection to make.

The Elephant Express Sunset Cruise is a brand new activity that has been launched by Imvelo Safaris for its local and SADC country guests.
This cruise is a different type of cruise, a unique railway leisure trip done in the late afternoon and takes guests through the Ngamo plains as they view game and get many photographic opportunities.
The Elephant Express is a custom-built rail car that offers comfortable seating, safety (seats come with seat belts), and a great vantage point to see a variety of wild animals in their element. The railway car can accommodate up to twenty-two guests and it is open-sided to offer clear views of the surroundings. The Ngamo plains are a wildlife-rich area and guests can look forward to seeing herds of elephants, zebra, warthogs, giraffe, and other species making their way across the grassy plains.
The late afternoon is a perfect time to capture stunning pictures of wildlife with the golden sunsets forming a colourful background. The activity runs for approximately the railway car departs Ngamo Siding at 16h30 and takes the short trip to Ingwe Siding before returning the same way again.
Those who would like to experience the Elephant Express Sunset Cruise are advised that two weeks’ notice is required therefore booking is essential and the activity is charged separately, at US$300 per trip. No refreshments are served on board the Elephant Express, however; guests are welcome to bring their own. There are ablution facilities onboard for guests’ convenience.
