Victoria Falls: Zambezi National Park Safari

Zimbabwe

Embark on an exciting safari through the world-famous Zambezi National Park in Victoria Falls. Join your guide on a ride among the wilderness and stay on the lookout for elephants, leopards, and more.

Overview

This is a small-group wildlife safari in Zambezi National Park, Zimbabwe, ideal for nature enthusiasts seeking early park access and multilingual guides.

Description

Discover the vast wilderness of Zambezi National Park, which covers 56,000 hectares together with Victoria Falls National Park. This safari operates in two main game-viewing areas accessible via an extensive road network along the Zambezi River. Departing earlier than other companies, the safari offers guests the chance to see more wildlife during peak activity times.

Guests explore the park in open four-wheel-drive vehicles led by qualified guides who handle park formalities and provide briefings on arrival. The park is unfenced, so sightings depend on being in the right place at the right time. Wildlife includes elephants, lions, buffalo, leopard, various antelope species, and over 75 fish species, such as bream and tiger fish, in the Zambezi River.

The drive continues upstream along the river with stops at one of 25 numbered sites for light refreshments. Morning safaris start at 06:00 with muffins, fruit, hard boiled eggs, tea, coffee and water served. Afternoon safaris depart at 15:00 offering soft drinks, beer, water and a snack platter. These rest areas are shaded by Natal Mahogany trees on the riverbank.

Game drives last three to four hours. Note the rainy season is November to April, which can affect road conditions and wildlife movement.
