Lion and Elephant is the perfect place to stop if you are travelling between Zimbabwe and South Africa by road, it is situated between Beitbridge and Harare. It is still in relatively good condition and the service with a smile is unparalleled from all the friendly staff.
Rooms are clean and the water is hot; the menu is simple and the food comes quickly. The staff are friendly and efficient. You can easily pick up a car wash too. The noise of traffic from the main road is significant in the campsite and becomes less intrusive further into the motel. Sitting on a bench overlooking the river bed, identifying birds is my happiest memory of this night over.
