Matobo Hills Lodge
Zimbabwe
Matobo Hills lodge is a luxury facility which is built on a rock. It is situated within Matobo National Park, approximately 48 kilometres outside Bulawayo.
The lodge comprises 18 chalets. All the chalets are thatched and they have ensuite facilities, modern furnishings in earthy colours and ethnic tones. All rooms are equipped with tea/coffee station, air conditioner and hot showers. The main area has the restaurant and bar; guests can unwind while they take in the lovely view of Maleme Valley. Guests needing to connect with the rest of the world can access wifi from these points.
In warm weather guests can take a dip in the glistening pool or take advantage of the variety of leisure activities to do within the area. There are some caves that are close to the lodge, that were used by the Ndebele tribe who lived in the area some hundreds of years ago and guests can take a hike high up in the rocks to see the grain bins they used to hide food provisions from marauders. Drives into the park will also give guests the chance to see rock art left by Bushmen. Half day or full day visits into the national park are offered, for some rhino trekking as well as visits to Worlds view, a scenic point located within the park.
