Description
After picking you up from your hotel, lodge or airbnb we start with a safari around historic landmarks in Victoria Falls, like the train station and the Victoria Falls Hotel. Our licensed safari guide will also point out restaurants, bars, local markets and places of interest you see along the way. From there we continue our safari though the bush where you will learn of the areas flora and fauna as well as the rich and colorful history and culture of Zimbabwe. After nature and wildlife watching between the town and the Zambezi gorge our tour will include an exciting and brief stop of the view of the gorge and the mighty Zambezi river below. If you are fortunate you can witness high wire activities like the gorge swing or zip line and possible whitewater rafting or the jet boat activity thru the rapids of the Zambezi. Back on the Safari Jeep we be continuing thru the bush and are looking for more wildlife, before stopping at the big baobab tree. You will have time to take pictures and shop for some local arts and crafts from a small local market next to the tree. We continue searching for animals and depending on the time of your safari departure we either go to the vulture experience, the Chinotimba township, enjoy the sunset in the african bush or you are up for our moonlight safari in Victoria Falls. After the safari drive we will drop you off close to the border and walk about 15 minutes with a local guide, who navigates a path through the African bush. Enjoy this opportunity to encounter wildlife such as impalas, warthogs, and baboons under the careful supervision of the tour guide. Next, admire local artistry at the Victoria Falls Craft Markets, where local artists sculpt works that symbolize African wildlife such as elephants, rhinoceroses, and giraffes. Made from natural materials like fibers, wood, clay, and stone, take this opportunity to get a keepsake. After passing the crafts market, cross the Zambian border post and continue walking for about 10 minutes and listen to the impressive, thunder-like crashing of the falls. Then stroll across the Victoria Falls Bridge and experience the breathtaking views that it has to offer of the gorge and Zambezi River.To wrap up the tour, stop at a small museum site and admire a small-scale model of the bridge along with historic photos and documentation from the time it was built.
