Ryder Protection Services Zimbabwe (RPSZ) is a Zimbabwean Dog training facility that specializes in providing unique training to dogs for deployment in various settings. The main focus of the organization is to train dogs for anti-poaching activities to support wildlife rangers in conservation efforts. Currently, the company has a capacity for twenty dogs but looks to expand to train as many as a hundred dogs. RPSZ dog trainers are well trained and have considerable experience garnered from working in Africa and the Middle East. Dogs are trained from the tender age of 8 weeks and the duration of training is six months
Dogs are trained in the following disciplines;
- Tracking human scent,
- Detecting: ivory, rhino horn, bush meat, ammunition, Snares, pangolin scales, spent cartridges, firearms
- Narcotics Detection
Ryder Protection Services Zimbabwe has already successfully trained which are already on the ground in the Zambezi Valley area. More dogs are scheduled for deployment to other safari areas in Zimbabwe where poaching is rife. In addition, the company can hire out these trained canines and provide training to dog handlers for free.
