Harare Sights and sounds - Mativi Africa

Guests will get a chance to shop for curios or souvenirs and are exposed to the Zimbabwean artistic voice and style. The tour is an unfiltered teaser of the Zimbo way of life. The tour includes the following;
  • Domboshava – Domboshava is a natural monument located some 30kilometres from the city. Guests will see some ancient rock paintings, enjoy a brief hike and get to see a picturesque view of the city from the top of the hill.
  • Mbare Market; A bustling vegetable and craft market located in one of the oldest neighbourhoods in the city. Mbare is an inner city location but it is a thriving business centre in its own right, many traders get fresh produce at very low prices in Mbare before spreading across the city for resale. It is also the largest bus terminus in the city where locals get long-distance transportation to other towns, cities and most rural province across the country. Words are not enough to explain a typical visit to Mbare but the visit truly is a visit to the belly of the city for authentic sights and sounds of the city.
  • Harare National Gallery – An artistic centre which is located in the city centre, it was opened over 50 years ago, it holds a variety of art forms from paintings, sculptures,
  • Newlands Craft Market – This market is a small art and crafts market where guests can shop freely in a quieter less congested part of town.
Guests will take the tour in an air-conditioned vehicle with a professional driver and will be provided with cold bottled water. Rates include any applicable entrance fees. The tour takes approximately 6 hours, no food is provided.
