The Guides Against Poaching initiative (G.A.P.) was born during Covid and through the Zimbabwe Professional Guides Association (Z.P.G.A.)
G.A.P. exists to give guides an opportunity to be at the forefront of conservation efforts in Zimbabwe. Guides volunteer their time and skill for specific projects all of which are undertaken to protect, preserve or enhance our wildlife and wilderness areas.
In the wake of Covid-19 the slump in travel and tourism has seen a big dip in revenues for Tour operators. These organisations have traditionally funded some conservation efforts especially in their immediate environs. Guides against Poaching have stepped in to cover that “gap”.
