Africa Albida Tourism’s Victoria Falls Safari Lodge is one of the most notable lodges in Victoria Falls. An award-winning facility, this lodge has consistently delivered on quality and elegance. It is strategically located and is one of four great properties on the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge estate, which also include Victoria Falls Safari Club, Victoria Falls Safari Suites, and Lokuthula Lodges.

We recently visited the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge for a short stay and a tour. We found the rooms very comfortable and spacious, with excellent views of the water hole (NB: Lodge Standard Rooms overlook the Zambezi National Park). In the late afternoon, we enjoyed a drink on the deck and watched a herd of buffalo come to drink, followed by a herd of elephants. We had dinner at MaKuwa-Kuwa Restaurant which was delicious. For starters, we had the curried butternut soup and I enjoyed my mains which were Lentil Masala. During dinner, we could still see some elephants in the waterhole as there is a big floodlight that shines down on the valley.

The staff was accommodating and very friendly, constantly checking that we were comfortable, and well looked after. A staff member took us on a tour of the lodge facilities. A big attraction was the Fitness Centre that is below the swimming pool overlooking the waterhole. Fitness enthusiasts will definitely enjoy this place for their daily exercises.

The next morning, we enjoyed coffee on the private balcony watching the birds in the trees and we managed to spot some Kudu and warthogs venturing to the watering hole. Then we made our way to breakfast which was a continental-style buffet with a wide selection, with everything from fruit salad to muffins.

We were shown around the Victoria Falls Safari Club which is a stunning addition to the Africa Albida Tourism properties.  The Safari Club guests have their own private deck from which they have a view of the estate’s main waterhole. There is a lounge and a restaurant which serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Safari Club guests have a private pool and TV area but they can also use the facilities at Victoria Falls Safari Lodge. The Club Rooms are more spacious than the rooms at Victoria Falls Safari Lodge.  They are more expensive but you do get more ‘bang for your buck’.

The Victoria Falls Safari Suites are perfect for families or bigger groups as each of the 2 or 3-bedroom Safari Suites can accommodate five or seven guests respectively. The rooms can have either twin or double beds with the fifth or seventh person being accommodated on a comfortable sofa bed in the TV lounge.
