Luxury Safari Camps
Camp Chitubu owned by Mutondo Safaris is now officially open. The second camp in the Mutondo Safaris portfolio, Chitubu is a private photographic camp located in the Sinamatella area of Hwange. The camp is close to Mandavu Dam a prime water source and it overlooks a perennial spring. The location makes it a magnet for a variety of wildlife species and guests can look forward to rewarding birding experiences.
The camp is accessible by road and by air, there are three nearby airstrips where fly-in guests can land. Guests can drive into camp, alternatively, transfers from the Park's Mbala Gate are provided twice a day. Chitubu comprises six new age (Bedouin style) tents equipped with king-size tents, flush toilets, his and hers vanity, and bathrooms have hot showers.
The camp is solar-powered. There is a spacious entertainment area that has a lounge, bar, and dining area. Guests can sit by the fire pit in the evenings and relax after their day's safari adventures.
Chitubu offers a fully inclusive experience that includes excellent dining, comfortable accommodation, and guided activities (walking safaris, plus game drives). All meals are well prepared and marked by variety. These include 3-course dinners, daytime refreshments, and cooked or continental breakfast. The camp is family-friendly; children should always be under the supervision of their parents or guardians. Those aged eleven years and under are charged at 50% of the given rate.
