Chilojo Bush Camp
Chilojo offers a tented camp that can accommodate 10 guests in five tents. The tents can sleep two guests on twin beds while two additional guests can sleep in sleeping bags. Guide accommodation can be arranged as well. Each tent has en-suite facilities, the best the bush can provide. It comes with bucket showers and composting toilets. The tents are a short distance from each other. The camp is accessible by road as well by private charter, there is an airstrip that is long enough to accommodate a King Air 200. Recreational activities include, Bush walks, game drives, swimming, animal trekking, and fishing. There is a satellite phone within the camp which can be used by guests if necessary. There is a limited laundry service available to guests at no extra charge.
Gonarezhou Walking Safaris
The walking safaris are an exceptional experience that requires a certain degree of fitness. As guests traverse the varied landscapes offered by the park to explore and get a remarkable close-to-nature adventure. Mealtime will be interesting as the party will be stopping for picnic lunches and will therefore not miss any action. Breakfast and Dinners will be enjoyed from camp stools. Guests move to a new location daily and after An eventful day retire in the fly camps which are set up in advance. The tents are dome-shaped with a tight mesh net impenetrable by bugs but transparent enough to see the beautiful night lights. This experience is very close to sleeping under the stars. Bedding comprises bedrolls that come with cotton linen and feather pillows.
Facilities are basic but decent and earth-friendly with guests having the opportunity to bathe in the river and use shared short drops. The walking safaris accommodate only six guests at a time and there are six tents that may be able to accommodate two people each, distance between tents varies from site to site. One additional private guide may be accommodated. Activities to look forward to including Fishing, swimming, and limited game drives. Guests on safari are not completely cut off from the world as there is a Satellite phone at camp and accompanying guides can get in touch via portable VHF radios. Walking safaris are available between April and November as well.
N.B Please note that children aged twelve and over are welcome. There is no laundry service while on walking safaris.
