Farmhouse Matopos
The Farmhouse Lodge is located in the Matopos area of Bulawayo, just 40km out of the city. It is a serene retreat, conveniently designed to give guests home away from away comfort with nature at arm’s length.This lodge is perfect for families with young kids and elderly people
The Farmhouse Lodge offers 12 neatly thatched chalets, all of them have ensuite facilities (with showers); guests can opt for twin rooms or doubles. Cots or extra beds are available on request at an extra charge. All the cottages have a kitchenette which has a sink, kettle, glasses and coffee facilities; guests can avail themselves to the restaurant for breakfast and dinner, while lunch is provided on request. There is a barbeque set up behind each cottage. A full bar is available to guests only; it closes at 10 pm daily.
For leisure activities, Farmhouse offers game drives early in the morning or later in the afternoon. Guests can also self-drive around the property. Those who like to explore the game reserve can do so via Bushwalks with a professional guide or follow mountain bike trails in the forest (Bicycles are available for hire). It will be a rewarding experience to look out for flora and fauna as well as visit the bushman paintings which are dotted around the property. Hiking and Geocaching are also available at the lodge. Guests can also sign up for half-day or full-day visits into the national park for some rhino trekking as well as visit the Worlds view, a scenic point located within the park.
Farmhouse lodge also offers camping facilities, which can accommodate up to 100 people. Braai areas and neat communal ablution facilities are available at the site.
