Jackalberry Camp is a part of Chitembe River lodge, a privately owned luxury lodge situated along the banks of the Zambezi River in Mana Pools National Park. The camp is set in a diverse wilderness that has a lot to offer from scenery to activities such as fishing trips, game drives, river safaris, Birding, and Island lunches. Jackalberry is accessible by road or by air.
It is advisable to do a road transfer using a 4x4 vehicle. The camp is six kilometres from the local airstrip and guests are charged a landing fee plus a nominal fee for in-camp transfers. There is a boat transfer option from Chirundu, Boat transfer from Chirundu to camp return (2 boat pickup approximately).
Jackalberry is a six-tented camp, with each tent accommodating two people in three-quarter beds. The tents have fans and bed linen. The camp has a fully equipped kitchen complete with fridges, a cooker, deep freezes, cutlery, and crockery. Other facilities are a dining area, lounge, and Lapa area. For guest leisure, there is a fully equipped bar and a camp swimming pool. No private boats are allowed in camp but the lodge has boats that can be used for fishing trips and other recreation on the river. There is a choice between Pelican and Pontoon boats. Jackalberry is fully serviced by the following staff to assist with cooking, cleaning, and other tasks. A chef, waiter, room cleaner, and general hands.
