Shashani Lodge lies in the Matobo Hills region an hour's drive from the city of Bulawayo and 25 kilometres from Plumtree. The lodge sits on a large rock cliff with beautiful views of the woodland and game reserve around it. Shashani lodge comprises 10 neat brick and thatch chalets which are evenly spaced and a fire pit.
Each ensuite lodge is spacious and each one comes with a private verandah. All the units are tastefully decorated which is typical of the impeccable Zambezi Safari Cruise Safaris brand. Additional accommodation on offer is a spacious place for overlanders and a campsite which is complete with its own tents. The camp section of the lodge has a separate dining area. The main lodge is a large open plan building which offers a great view, where guests have access to the bar, lounge and dining area. There is a swimming pool for those who would like to cool down from the summer heat.
There is much to see and do for guests visiting Shashani Lodge. Matobo area and the lodge environs included has many rock paintings left behind by original inhabitants of the area. Guests will also be taken on a tour to see the ancient grain bins which were hidden in the caves around the property.
Those who are fit can also enjoy some nature walks to learn about the flora and fauna of the region and also see some of the granite Hills in the area.
Offsite places of interest include the World's View Monument, Nswatugi Cave and much more.
