The tours may include homestays in these places so that tourists get an authentic experience. The Harare tours take tourists to interesting spots such as Mbare Musika, the Main Market in the city, and selected sites in the townships of Highfields and Mbare.
The rural tours help participants to understand the countryside way of life through interactions with locals (the host family and community) who will gladly answer questions about their history, demonstrations of day to day tasks and sampling the delicious home-cooked meals (local cuisine).
The Rural trip will include a tour of the Great Zimbabwe monument. One of Zimbabwe’s main historical sites, so as to learn of the foundations of the country and find out more about the civilizations which existed hundreds of years ago.
Dzefunde is a socially responsible business that is giving back to locals by creating employment for disadvantaged young people. Orphans and youths who used to be homeless are trained as city guides. The homestay hosts in the townships and rural areas receive a percentage of the profits generated through the tours. The objective is to give an enriching experience to foreign guests (tourists) while helping to combat poverty in the lives of the locals.
