Zimbabwe Professional Guides Association (Z.P.G.A.)
Conservation
The Zimbabwe Professional Guides Association is an organisation that was established to support Licensed Zimbabwean Guides. It should come with little surprise that in order to guide we require both wildlife and wildlife areas and therefore all members are part of the conservation of both. The Association is able to achieve much through public engagement, education and advocacy for well-regulated wildlife operations as well as sustainable, ethical use.
It is important to understand that it is not compulsory to be a member of the Z.P.G.A. and in fact it is restricted to individuals who comply with our strict criteria for consideration before membership is granted. But aligning oneself, if one qualifies, with an organisation like the Z.P.G.A., with a strong legacy of maintaining industry integrity and standards provides our Agents with a standard to sell and Guests a superior quality product to buy into.
One of the draw cards to the Association is that members grow their knowledge and skill base through networking and continuous learning.
The Z.P.G.A. partners with the Zimbabwe National Parks Authority, whom are the Guides Licencing Authority in Zimbabwe. The Z.P.G.A. assist in the testing of learner guides when they sit for their examinations and take their practical tests.
The Z.P.G.A. holds several events around the country which help to achieve their mission. These include both refresher and advanced courses for their members as well as hosting public engagement platforms such as the Z.P.G.A.Talks, Conservation drives and many others.
