Just outside Harare’s city limits is the prime wilderness estate Mbizi Game Park. A privately owned park, Mbizi is acre upon acre of unspoilt woodland that has been lovingly preserved as a safe habitat for various wild animals.
It is home to Giraffe, warthog, impala, some zebra among other species. At the heart of the park is the Game lodge where guests can take in some fresh country air, enjoy some peace and quiet and unwind in the company of friends or family. Mbizi Game Park offers a variety of recreational activities for day visitors or overnighters. Its location is ideal for a quick weekend outing from Harare to enjoy the outdoors, barbeque and comfortably drive back to the city in the early evening.
There are 2 accommodation options at Mbizi. The Lodge, which is a farmhouse that was renovated and now offers tastefully decorated rooms with comfortable furnishings. Guests are offered Dinner, Bed and Breakfast. Then there are bush cottages, these are self-contained two bedroomed units that have a fully equipped kitchen, separate bath and an entertainment area. They are very comfortable.
The perfect location for group outings Mbizi also serves as a Team building centre. There is a physical challenge course designed for this purpose. Other activities offered to groups or individuals are; Horse riding, Fishing, Volleyball, Canoeing, Game drives and Bushwalks.
