The Sundowner Zambezi Lodge is a Hwange fishing lodge located near the confluence of the Deka and Zambezi River, about 145 kilometres from Vic Falls. The lodge gives guests easy access to the National Park and definitely to the great Zambezi River for those visiting the area for some fishing.

The lodge offers comfortable accommodation and it is ideal for families or couples. Our accommodation options are as follows; two lodges, these can accommodate up to four people. Each unit comes with two single beds (double available on request) ensuite bathroom, small lounge and a private patio giving guests great views of the beautiful surroundings.

There are three twin rooms which are equipped with ensuite bathroom with shower (hot & cold running water); Overhead fans and mosquito nets plus ice-cold drinking water. All living quarters are thatched units made from natural rock. Guests can choose the full board option or self-catering.  

Leisure activities on offer include bird safaris by boat, sunset cruises, watching riverine animals like hippos and crocodiles from the viewing deck (Boma), picnics on nearby Mapeta Island, cultural visits to the nearby community and so much more. Fishing is a big activity in the area as it is a great location for tiger fishing as well as fishing for species like Bream and Chesa.

A boat is available (as well as an experienced captain) for fishing expeditions to explore the waters and give it a go. Fishing trips rates include hire and use of equipment, snacks, and the guidance from an experienced captain.
 N.B All fishing is strictly on a catch and release basis.
